In Character Posting

Rapture leans back in his seat and waits, looking towards the others for their reactions.

"As I said I have no issue with the priest, as long as there be gold in this quest I be willing" Leans back in his chair and finishes his drink.

Borris hangs forward over the back of his chair in hopelessness.

Before the paladin's comment:
"I have a sense of subtlety when need be - it just doesn't suit me well."

Now, to the paladin:
"My 'Judgement Day,'" she snaps, "will not be at the hands of your god! I will be judged worthy in the eyes of mine, and yours shall have no say, save for what he mutters to himself while I burn his people! And as for my tongue, I would dare you to try and take it from me." Asmona snarls, flames burning in her eyes.

Leans further back in his chair.
"Thus the She-Devil and the Scaly Priest start firing broadsides." he says sarcastically. "Oh and Knives, I can be stealthy if I want. Anyway my bet is on the Scaly one!" He roars laughter as he watches the two.

Having waited for Asmona's response, Rapture leans forward. "I believe both of your Gods would desire the demons to be purged from this world yes? I suggest a temporary religious truce. You can both kill each other to your hearts content after our job is finished; but let us first take care of the greater evil. My posters were asking for allies wiling to do whatever it takes to deal with the demons; that includes working along side people you might find of... dubious morality. If either of you find this unacceptable then please leave. No hard feelings, but dealing with squabbles over religion will only get in the way. It does not serve our purposes and thus, as far as this group is concerned, it is a waste of time."

((yeah sorry, blinded still by new spoilers as well as building LL characters in my head. Though, depending on your point of view... you do look like a devil after all.))

Asmona exhales reluctantly. "All gods are in truce, just as in the Dawn War of eons past. My only hesitation is that you will worry far to much for the lives of the innocent - which are of no consequence to me. I assume the poster's "Do Anything" means that we must accept that any means justify the ends of assisting with the prevention of this impending apocalypse. And I am a fan of doing things in whatever way puts my life at the least risk and getting the job done with highest efficiency, and I cannot afford to shackle myself to any methods resembling 'Heroism'"

"And that is the purpose of our group. We will do whatever it is we can to stop the demonic threat. This includes both saving children or sacrificing them. I do not ask anyone to like it, and if someone takes exception to the idea they are encouraged to walk away. No one is forcing anyone to be a part of this." Rapture says. "This also means that you are responsible for the actions you take during our time together. Enough of this though, who wants a drink?"

"First I want to hear if this Paladin is in agreement with our methodology."

"My actions are my actions. I never needed scapegoat before, why start now?"

"And I want just glass of hot water."

As he downs another mug.
"Way ahead of you lad!" Laughter erupts again.

"Any sage worth his mettle will tell you that there is no such thing as 'innocence,' only greater degrees of sin. There are no heroes in this war, and all will see judgement in time. This land has been set upon by a blight and I am here to purge it. Those sacrificed for the greater good will be made martyr, and the few should feel honored to know they'll die for the sake of the many."

Asmona laughs. "You're insane. I can work with this."

Rapture visible relaxes as the situation between the devil and the hold man eases. His hand relaxes off his control rod that he had firmly gripped and a smile breaks across his face. After ordering another round of drinks for his new-found allies, getting them whatever it is that they like, Rapture informs Heston of what hes told the other members of the group already.

Heston laughs "you must be either incredibly dangerous or incredibly stupid to share such knowledge with those you have only just met. Forget the tiefling wretch, you're the one I need to watch."

Heston takes a seat at the table, his gaze taking another cursory sweep.

"Now, I would refrain from talking further business here as we've drawn too much attention to ourselves as is."

"Well... I did have five different escape plans in case telling anyone went wrong. My favorite involved crashing in the roof around us." Rapture says. "But, as I told them, if I am to trust you with my life I want you to know that you can trust me with yours. Secrets like that should not be kept from co-workers, besides its best if everyone knows what I am able to do. I agree, it is time for us to take our leave. I suggest leaving something in the jar labeled 'pay your dues' before we go. We don't want to make enemies where none are needed."

Borris looks between Rapture and the jar in question. "Mmm, no. I don't pay for water."

Borris lifts up one of his hands, palm down and fingers hanging. He then stirs the air slowly. Before the party's eyes, a thin, semi-transparent fog materializes through out the entire room leaving only their table clear. As the fog begins to clear, Borris stands up and walks out of the building.

"Call me a Tiefling Wretch again and you won't live to do it a third time. I will work with you if we maintain a level of professional courtesy, but I will not tolerate such disrespect any further!"

Looking between the pair yelling, Rapture simply nods to the barman; slips some coins in to the tip jar to cover both himself and Borris and leaves the bar whistling.

He simply tosses a small bag of coins towards the barman.
"That should cover it"

"Do we have an agreement, priest? Mutual feigned respect, and we can focus our attention to more worthwhile tasks."

"A means to an end... We have an accord. I imagine this will prove an interesting diversion."

Having finished battle, Rapture takes a look around at the scorched field where Asmona launched a wave of Hellfire to incinerate the demonic toy while Heston struck it down with Divine Rebukes.

A shadowy hand raises up from behind him to wipe away a bit of gore stuck to his shoulder while Rapture wipes some away from his scepter.

"Well, given all that occurred I'd say that could have gone a lot worse." He says to the group. "We've got a bag full of bodies, bones and weapons and obliterated a demonic encampment. Well done."
