Dragonreach 2013-2014 Characters!

Here is where you can all discuss you various characters for the game. And do those fancy posts where you write up the backstory and put an image of the character with a link to the character sheet.

Well, currently I'm at a loss for what kind of character I want to play, although I'm thinking of a Blood Mage-esque character, if not just a full-boar Blood Mage.

Guuuuys, we should totes push Chad into making the campaign start 18 years after the DR Finale. Because. Um. Well because my character works best that way.........

Edit: Also, the only thing that's been interesting to me in terms of a character is basically a Blood Mage from this city that fell called Haven, where (after being under debate between a DoT person and a melee life-steal tank, I will probably be a mix of both). Arcane and Endurance for main-stats, with magical knowledge/usage focus in Blood Magic, which as far as I've thought of fluff-wise is mostly a battle-based magic, with the use out of combat through the actual inscription in or sacrifice of blood to drastically empower rituals, or perhaps the craft of life-stealing and blood-magic benefiting magical items. Idk, Blood Magic in the simplest, rawest explanation is like normal magic-use, but where blood is used as a key component/catalyst.

Well basically, I want to get a part of my character's backstory where the necromantic rod of wonder nuke bomb went off before he was born, it'd be cool if Haven was new but not *brand* new (sounds like that would work for your character too), and to be perfectly honest, I think it would be cool to have Sonkei's daughter enter the picture, who is under a year old at the time the island drops.TechnOkami wrote:Why? ...but then time changed and his wife never took ill and died so he doesn't actually do that in the current time stream and he has a daughter

I will be playing Sif Kelger, ex-paladin vigilante. Once an aspiring member of Whitefire, his blatant disregard for authority and due process quickly clashed with the rigid ideals imposed on him by his superiors. He left Whitefire without word or warning, deciding to pick up his sword and do things his own way.
More details later this summer. Spec'd primarily for athletics, secondary in heal. In combat I'll be playing a striker.
Also, I am okay with setting this 18 years in the future.

I'm basically thinking of a Blood Mage from Haven. I'll probably try different combat builds until I find what I enjoy.

At some point I'll need to talk to Wolfgang/Anyone else in private to discuss things about Haven that only Haven...ites? Havenites? People from Haven would know.

For the first 16 years of my life I was a poor kid, a troublemaker and a street punk. I didn’t really care much about my own life. The world seemed like an ugly place, frankly. Reason 2 to have DR a little bit in the future: Goldenrod the Dragon can be old enough for the DM to develop a real character for him

Idea: Perhaps part of the reason Devin's character has turned against Whitefire's black-and-white rules is his contact with Wolfgang's character and/or Dan''s character. Perhaps it was one of them that convinced him, by words of simply by being, that their black-and-white rules are dumb because they label Dan' and Wolf as "Evil" just because of their powers, and somehow Devin meets one or both of these two (part of a team that was sent to kill them or something) and any reservations he has against Whitefire's methods become validated by this

There've been some alterations to my character which would reinforce me knowing at least Wolgang prior to the campaign, actually. I too am undead now, and am trying to find a way into Haven, which Wolfgang is a citizen of. If you think hanging out with some decent undead will make you question old loyalties, try being one.

wait how did this happen? I'm... guessing that changed in you characters history? That actually sounds less interesting to me because your character would basically be forced out instead of deciding for himself he wanted out, though I guess I don't know the details... and then there's the possibility for the "crisis of faith" were he did like their way of doing things, then became an undead and realized it didn't make him evil and everything they told me must be wrong then and that's probably what you're going with so I should retract my statement

I was a member of Whitefire, then died. Later, I was resurrected as a zombie, and now I'm trying to find a way to Haven. I have more as far as the fine details and what's going on in his head, but I'll leave that for in-character interactions.

Hi, My name is Luke! I don’t know my “last” name, but Moro says that’s the first name my mom gave me. See, when I was a pup my mom gave me to the spirit wolf Moro, whose home was destroyed by a necromantic explosion a few years before I was born. We still live in the untouched parts of those woods, though, near the town of Notved. The people there don’t really know me, though – I’m a Kitsune, and Moro says people don’t really trust people like me. Think we’re liars and thieves. But I’m a terrible liar. I mean, I have taken food from the baker and the- I mean, I’m not a thief either. Sorry, I live in the woods you know so I’ve been slow to learn the rules of “civilization.” But I love learning and exploring! So I go in disguises to check it out. Well, only Notved – I’ve never been far from home, and Moro won’t let me. I’d go anyway, but then she wouldn’t tell me anything about Mom. See, apparently my mom told her that it was like, my quest or something to find out for myself who she was, because she was important somehow but I needed to seek her out. So, Moro says when I’m old enough she’ll give me a hint, and then we can go out for an adventure and find her. Oh, and I’m 16.
